Meet Your Teachers
Eri is the owner and head teacher of Elevie Japan Crochet and Fiber School. She started crocheting as a child with her mom and went on to graduate from fashion school in Japan. Before marrying an American and moving to the USA, she had a successful career in fashion retail with a side business creating jewelry from tatting lace. She speaks English and Japanese.
When she's not working on her business, she's likely walking her "Newfie" Daisy or crocheting stylish clothes for herself!
Amy is a teacher of English as a Second Language and speaks English and Spanish. She started crocheting in high school and teaches a variety of classes including Beginning Crochet, Tunisian Crochet, and Advanced Patterns in Crochet. She assists Eri in most classes.
When she's not working, she's probably trying out a new fiber hobby or playing Minecraft with her daughters!
Elena is the newest teacher for Elevie Japan! After a long career as an accountant, she moved to the USA from Mexico with her husband.
Thanks to Eri, she rediscovered her long lost love of crochet. When she's not helping teach, she's busy making African flower animals for our retail business or cooking delicious Mexican food! She speaks English and Spanish.

Most of our crochet classes require you to bring your own yarn, stitch markers, and a hook. In special circumstances, especially for small projects, teachers may provide the yarn. For other classes, like tatting lace, the teacher may provide all the materials. Be sure to check the class information for required materials for your specific class.

All payment is due upon registration for class. Because our teachers work hard to prepare for each class, we do not provide refunds for cancellations made within 2 days of the start of class. If you miss a class session, but have attended other sessions for the same class (example: Beginning Crochet includes two class sessions (101 and 102)), we are happy to work with you to make up the work you missed.
YES! You've come to the right place! Elevie Japan was created by women who met through local ESL programs. Our teachers have combined fluency in Spanish, English, and Japanese. We believe that diversity makes us better! You are welcome!
